Boiler Feed Water Treatment- DM Plants

Demineralization is the process of removing mineral and salts from Water by using the ion exchange process. Natural or bore well water is having minerals in the form of salts and dissolved anions and cations. Demineralization is achieved by Deionization of anions and cations using Ion Exchange Resins. Mineral ions such as cations of sodium, calcium, iron, copper, etc and anions such as chloride, sulphates, nitrate, etc are common ions present in Water. Deionization is a physical process which uses specially-manufactured ion exchange resins which provides ion exchange site for the replacement of the mineral salts in Water with Water forming H+ and OH- ions. A DM Water System produces mineral free Water by principle of ion exchange, Degasification, and polishing. Demineralized Water is used for Boilers, Coolers and other heat transfer equipments.

Water Softeners are working on principle of Ion Exchange, but unlike DM Plants only positively charged ions such as calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions only are removed in single exchanger
